Ms. Ayana Laurent brings 18 years of experience in Early Childhood Education to L’Academy, Cary. She holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science from Florida State University. In her three years in North Carolina, Ayana has quickly built meaningful connections within the Triangle community.

She began her career teaching at Primrose Schools, then served as Director of a family daycare in Orlando, Florida, before founding and running her own daycare, Building Blocks Academy, from 2018 to 2022.

Ayana is passionate about nurturing young minds and creating a supportive, inclusive environment. She loves working at L’Academy because it allows her to foster each child’s unique growth while collaborating with dedicated, passionate educators.

Ms. Laura was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, where she studied and received her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Inspired by her mother, who is a school director, Ms. Laura has dedicated over 10 years to the field of childcare.

Ms. Laura loves her job as the Assistant Director at L’Academy, which is a day-to-day adventure. ECE requires a lot of hard work. She is committed to delivering high-quality care and education to all of our little ones because they deserve the best.

She believes that the L’Academy’s team truly brings the best to the table when it comes to care, love, and education for our precious and amazing children.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Laura and her loving husband have raised two beautiful boys.

Ms. Yanely has 13 years of teaching experience and holds a Bachelor’s in English Language Teaching, a Master’s in Contemporary English, and a Cambridge teaching certificate. She has worked at L’Academy for nearly two years, where she fosters a safe, curious, and confident learning environment. Born in Cuba, she enjoys music, TV, reading, walking, and shopping in her free time.

Ms. Naomi is a kind and caring person who enjoys exploring new places and sharing her knowledge with others. Above all, she treasures her roles as a mother and wife. Her love for working with children shines through in the time she spends supporting their growth and development.

Ms. Ashley holds a Bachelor’s in Special and Physical Education (K–12) and has several years of experience in education, including the last four in early childhood. Originally from Puerto Rico, she loves supporting young learners and believes the best learning happens through play and fun. Outside of work, she enjoys playing softball, drawing, and eating hamburgers.

Ms. Suzy Shujing Li is our Mandarin Pre-k teacher. She holds a bachelor of Arts in English Education and has over five years of experience teaching Chinese language art and culture in preschool and elementary school. She has a passion for teaching and promoting the emotional, cognitive, social, and physical development of each child.

Ms. Suzy loves gardening, cooking, and yoga.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Ms Suzy’s favorite food is mooncake.

Ms. Wendy holds a Master’s in Teaching Chinese and a Bachelor’s in Japanese Language. She has worked as a substitute teacher, camp director, and Chinese instructor, gaining valuable experience in childcare. Passionate about fostering language skills and cultural appreciation, she creates a nurturing environment where children can thrive. Ms. Wendy is excited to be part of L’Academy, inspiring and empowering young learners. At home, she is a wife and proud mother to a daughter and an energetic puppy.

Ms. Jing holds a Master’s Degree in Education and is passionate about creating a nurturing, engaging space where children can grow and thrive. Originally from Cuba, she now lives in Cary, NC with her family. For nearly two years, she has proudly been part of L’Academy, where she enjoys guiding young learners and supporting their curiosity and confidence.

Ms. Cherry is a graduate of Dalian Foreign Language University and a Montessori-certified teacher (0–3) with nearly three years of experience in Montessori education. She is fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, and English, and also holds an Early Childhood Education certification from Wake Tech Community College.

Her passion for teaching began at home, where she homeschooled her children, and continued to grow through her volunteer work at an elementary school in Raleigh. Ms. Cherry loves working with children and finds joy in seeing their eyes light up when they discover something new.

Outside the classroom, she enjoys hiking scenic trails, tending her garden, experimenting with new recipes, baking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
