Ms. Rachel has over ten years of experience in Early Childhood Education and earned her A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Sierra College. She loves to inspire curiosity and discovery in children and believes early exposure to languages helps them build empathy and broaden their worldview.

What she loves most about working at L’Academy is that every child is welcomed and supported in their individual learning, with a curriculum that helps them grow to their full potential.

Rachel lives in Folsom with her husband and three boys.

Ms. Alexis Cruz is the Assistant Director at L’Academy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Sacramento State and has been working with toddlers for three years. She is currently learning Spanish and knows some sign language, which she looks forward to incorporating into the classroom. Her favorite part of working with children is building strong connections with them and celebrating their learning achievements.

Outside of teaching, Ms. Alexis enjoys spending time outdoors, often going camping and hiking on the weekends. She is an avid reader and loves spending quality time with her family. A devoted pet owner, she has three dogs—Ace, Leo, and Gus. This year, she is excited to explore foods from different cultures and learn how to cook some of her favorite dishes.

Ms. Marlyn has worked with children since 2016 and is excited to be part of the Preschool class at L’Academy. She holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and an Early Childhood Education certification from Sacramento City College. A fluent Spanish speaker, she loves helping children learn and grow. Outside the classroom, Ms. Marlyn enjoys reading, country concerts, snowboarding, and spending time with her six-year-old. She’s also a longtime tennis fan!

Ms. Megan has worked in preschool since 2019, teaching various age groups and supporting children with potty training. Her experience with kids began in 2012 through babysitting and later as a swim instructor. Helping in her stepmother’s classroom growing up inspired her love for teaching. She completed her ECE units in Stockton, CA, and is close to earning her degree. Ms. Megan helped raise her younger brothers, loves puzzles of all kinds, enjoys snowy weather, and adores her dog, Skye!

Ms. Hebe has been teaching at L’Academy since March 2022, after previously working under My Preschool for a year. Before that, she spent three years teaching sports to high school students in China. After moving to the United States, she became curious about teaching preschool and decided to give it a try—quickly discovering her passion for early childhood education. She is a fully qualified Early Childhood Education teacher, having completed her training at Theoria Technical College. Additionally, she holds an Associate degree in Accounting from China.

In her free time, Ms. Hebe enjoys watching movies, working out, and hiking. She loves spending time with friends and has a passion for music, including singing, dancing, and playing the ukulele.

Ms. Lai is a Toddler Teacher at L’Academy Folsom with three years of experience in early childhood education. She holds an Associate’s degree in English and is bilingual in English and Spanish. A first-generation Asian American from Merced and a new mom, she brings warmth, creativity, and care to her teaching. Ms. Lai is passionate about nurturing young children and creating engaging learning environments. In her free time, she enjoys reading popular book series, playing video games, and listening to Taylor Swift.
