At L’Academy in Lower Nob Hill / CPMC, we support every child with compassion, curiosity, and a learning environment rooted in language and play. We offer full-time, year-round childcare and preschool for children ages 12 months to 6 years. Children learn in a Mandarin and/or Spanish immersion environment while building English readiness skills. Our curriculum blends Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and play-based learning to nurture every aspect of growth.

Ms. Myisia Brooks
Director
Ms. Myisia Brooks, born in San Mateo and raised in Palo Alto, has worked in Early Childhood Education since 2002, inspired by her daughter’s preschool experience. She holds associate degrees in Child Development and Liberal Arts from Cañada College and is currently pursuing her Master’s in ECE. Passionate about nurturing young learners, Myisia focuses on building strong foundations across all developmental areas. She is committed to creating an inclusive, loving classroom and values strong partnerships with families. Outside of teaching, she enjoys party planning, crafting, shopping, and relaxing at Starbucks.
Ms. Sheryl
Lead Mandarin Preschool Teacher
Ms. Sheryl is a dedicated preschool teacher fluent in Mandarin and English, with a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from San Francisco State University. She is pursuing advanced Early Childhood Education certifications through UCLA Extension. With experience in the SFUSD Mandarin Immersion Kindergarten Program, she brings a culturally responsive approach to her teaching at L’Academy CPMC, where she began in June 2024. In her free time, she volunteers at the Asian Art Museum and enjoys origami and documentaries.
Ms. Yiyi Lei
Lead Mandarin Preschool Teacher
Ms. Yiyi is a dedicated preschool teacher who approaches her work with love, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility. She prioritizes the holistic development of each child, listens attentively to their voices, and accompanies them with care and compassion as they grow. Committed to continuous self-improvement, Ms. Yiyi actively studies and explores the latest concepts and methods in early childhood education, consistently striving to enhance her teaching practices and provide the best possible learning environment for her students.
Ms. Tina Liao
Lead Mandarin Toddler Teacher
Ms. Tina has nearly two years of experience in early childhood education and is good at designing early childhood activities that are beneficial to the physical development of infants and young children. In her spare time, she likes to go outdoors and travel.
Ms. Hualing
Lead Mandarin Infant Teacher
Ms. Hualing brings six years of experience working with children in day care and after-school settings, along with the wisdom of raising four children. Passionate about early learning, she finds joy in helping young minds grow through meaningful classroom experiences. Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, she values patience and creating a nurturing environment. Outside the classroom, she enjoys gardening—finding joy in helping both plants and children thrive.

We’d give L’Academy 10 stars if we could! Our son has been attending for six months, and the experience has been stellar. The teachers are wonderful, and the space is clean and full of engaging activities. Our son is picking up English, Spanish, and Chinese! We love receiving multiple updates and photos throughout the day, showing just how happy the kids are.
The teachers are exceptionally thoughtful and create a warm and welcoming environment. The bond between our son and the teachers is evident, as they both light up with excitement during drop-off. We appreciate the continuous updates we receive throughout the day, including information about naps, meals, and activities, complete with photos.
Our experience at this L’Academy has been great. Ny son is excited to school everyday. The teachers are very supportive and patient with the kids. I love that!
My daughter started when she was 2 and went happily from her second day. The teachers were kind and gentle with the kids there and very patient with the parents. They talked about the details and answered all my questions and concerns.
