Our full-time, year-round childcare and preschool programs serve children ages 5 months to 6 years. We offer Mandarin immersion to support bilingual development alongside English readiness skills. Meet Our Staff
Danni Feng
Director
Ms. Danni is originally from China and has lived in San Francisco for over 20 years. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and holds an A.S. in Child Development and a Site Supervisor Permit from City College of San Francisco. Since 2013, she has worked in Early Childhood Education as both a teacher and administrator, bringing a well-rounded perspective to her role as Preschool Director.
What she loves most about working at L’Academy is being part of a preschool community where children thrive through language learning, cultural exploration, and social-emotional development.
Outside of school, Danni enjoys cooking, singing karaoke, and spending time with her husband and two teenage children.
Jina
Lead Preschool Teacher
Ms. Jina is bilingual in Mandarin and English and has been teaching Mandarin since 2013. She started in Sunday and afterschool programs and later taught Chinese Folk Dance for SFUSD. Since 2022, she has worked full-time in preschool, bringing enthusiasm and creativity to her teaching. She enjoys making custom materials like flashcards and posters. In her free time, Ms. Jina loves cooking homemade noodles, dumplings, and pancakes for her family.
Carrie Tan
Lead Preschool Teacher
Ms. Carrie has over 16 years of experience teaching young children and holds an AA in Early Childhood Education. Fluent in Mandarin and English, she uses hands-on activities, songs, and games to make learning fun and meaningful. She creates a nurturing, supportive environment where every child feels valued and empowered. In her free time, Ms. Carrie enjoys reading to her two children and spending time with family.
Li Yuan
Lead Preschool Teacher
Ms. Li Yuan is passionate about early childhood education and child psychology. With over ten years of teaching experience, she specializes in designing engaging, developmentally enriching curricula that highlight the importance of play in children’s learning and growth.
Her “edutainment” approach—blending education and enjoyment—encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young learners. Prior to her teaching career, Ms. Yuan earned her Ph.D. in Management from Beijing Normal University and worked as a producer and director for children’s programs at Beijing Television’s Youth Channel, where she created numerous children’s dramas and educational media productions.
Sarah Liang
Lead Infant Teacher
Ms. Sarah was born in China and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, helping her connect with diverse families. She holds an Associate’s degree in Child Development and has worked in early childhood education in the U.S. since 2021. As a mother to a lively toddler, she brings a personal perspective to her teaching. In her free time, she enjoys singing, reading, and playing at the playground with her daughter.
