At L’Academy in SoMa, we help children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of language and learning. We provide full-time, year-round childcare and preschool for children ages 5 months to 6 years. Children learn in a Mandarin immersion environment while gaining English readiness skills. Jennifer Knappick
Director
Ms. Jennifer was born and raised in San Francisco, Ca. She attended City College of SF majoring in Child Development. She has been working in the Childcare field since she graduated from High School. Ms. Jennifer started off as a Resource Teacher, moving up to a Teacher, Lead Teacher, Education Coordinator, Business Manager, and now Director. She is very excited to be joining the L’Academy team. Ms. Jennifer is passionate about making each child feel supported, excited, and safe each day. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 16-year-old son, her family, and friends. She is a big sports fan and also enjoys exploring the bay area finding new fun activities.
Jihuan Han (Jane)
Lead Infant Teacher
Ms. Jane was was born and raised in Beijing. She studied Economics and Management at the Capital University of Economics and Business, and have been engaged in financial work since graduation. In 2015, Ms. Jane decided to relocate to San Francisco. She took a course in Early Childhood Education at the City College and since then have working in different early childhood education institutions. She loves her job, but especially reading and singing to children. In her spare time she loves to read and learn about different cultures.

Why Parents Love L’Academy
My daughter loves the food and looks forward to school every weekday! Moreover, she’s able to sing and speak some Mandarin words after these few months. Quite impressed. I’m American-born and speak fluent Cantonese, so my goal is for her to be able to speak all three languages. I believe L’Academy can accomplish this!
We can’t say enough good things about the L’Academy SOMA location! Our son started attending full-time when he was 3 months and from the very beginning, the school’s director Jennifer was very responsive to any questions we had and our son’s main teacher Ms. Jane gave our son a level of attention and care beyond anything we could have asked for.
L’Academy has been such a wonderful experience for our son. The teachers are all very tuned in and the experience has been monumental for our son. The space itself is very open, filled with light and the kids have a wonderful outdoor oasis like playground area connected to the classrooms. Nothing but the best things to say about Jennifer (program director) and the entire team at L’Academy.
My daughter has been attending L’Academy SOMA preschool classroom and loves all her teachers. The Director has kept us updated on all her progress. We are so thrilled that our daughter can’t wait to get to school every morning.
