At L’Academy in Potrero Hill, we support every child with compassion, curiosity, and a learning environment rooted in language and play. Full-time, year-round childcare and preschool programs for kids ages 5 months through 6 years are offered at L’Academy. Our Potrero Hill location offers Mandarin immersion to support bilingual development along with English readiness skills. We use the best of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and play-based learning to inspire curiosity and growth. Families trust us for dependable, year-round care with low student-to-teacher ratios, healthy meals, and no potty training requirement.

Meet our Staff

Director: Danni Feng

Ms. Danni is originally from China, living in San Francisco for the past 20 years. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Ms. Danni graduated from the City College of San Francisco with an Associate of Science degree in Child Development. She also earned a site supervisor permit. Her bilingual skills and diverse cultural understanding enrich the learning environment, fostering inclusivity and effective communication with children and families from various backgrounds. She brings 12 years of extensive experience in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) field to her role as the preschool director. Throughout her career, Ms. Danni has held various roles in early childhood settings, from substitute, classroom teacher to administrative leader. This diverse background allows her to understand the unique needs of both children and staff, fostering a supportive and effective educational atmosphere. She emphasizes the importance of social- emotional development, ensuring that each child feels valued and understood. Outside of work, Ms. Danni enjoys singing karaoke and cooking with her husband. She also enjoys working out with her two teenage children.

Lead Infant Teacher: XiaoQin Huang

Ms. XiaoQin, born and raised in China, holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education. She gained valuable experience at a Chinese American international school in Beijing. Passionate about early childhood education, she brings diverse cultural perspectives to L’Academy. In her free time, she enjoys taking her two preschool-aged children to parks and spending time with her family.

Lead Preschool Teacher: Jina

Ms. Jina is bilingual in Mandarin and English and has been teaching Mandarin since 2013. She started in Sunday and afterschool programs and later taught Chinese Folk Dance for SFUSD. Since 2022, she has worked full-time in preschool, bringing enthusiasm and creativity to her teaching. She enjoys making custom materials like flashcards and posters. In her free time, Ms. Jina loves cooking homemade noodles, dumplings, and pancakes for her family.

Lead Preschool Teacher: Carrie Tan

Ms. Carrie has over 16 years of experience teaching young children and holds an AA in Early Childhood Education. Fluent in Mandarin and English, she uses hands-on activities, songs, and games to make learning fun and meaningful. She creates a nurturing, supportive environment where every child feels valued and empowered. In her free time, Ms. Carrie enjoys reading to her two children and spending time with family.

Lead Infant Teacher: Sarah Liang

Ms. Sarah was born in China and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, helping her connect with diverse families. She holds an Associate’s degree in Child Development and has worked in early childhood education in the U.S. since 2021. As a mother to a lively toddler, she brings a personal perspective to her teaching. In her free time, she enjoys singing, reading, and playing at the playground with her daughter.
