If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday will be observed the Friday before or the Monday after. Please refer to the school calendar for specific closure dates. Note that tuition will be due in full every month irrespective of school closures or holidays.

Director: Sara Garcia
Director Sara is an SF native that has been working for over 17 years in the childcare field. She has worked in a variety of roles from teacher assistant to lead, and then gained experience as a supervisor/education leader, now Director. She attended City College of San Francisco gaining credentials in ECE, and majors in Child Development and Behavioral Science and is so excited to work with the L' Academy Nob Hill Team. Her favorite aspect of working in childcare is working with the children and families, providing support, and building relationships. She also enjoys motivating teachers to develop their ideas/ goals and helping them build knowledge of support and guidance for children. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family while on outdoor adventures or attending sporting events.
Teacher: Tina Dang
Bei Dang, who goes by Tina, is from China and has a passion for working with children. She has previous experience teaching preschool students in America and elementary school students in China, focusing on language learning in both settings. At L'Academy, Tina will be supporting all groups as a helper. She is most excited to spend time with each child, learning about their interests, and feels fulfilled when her efforts are recognized. Tina is grateful for the opportunity to teach and looks forward to furthering her education in Child Development through upcoming classes. In her free time, she enjoys sports, photography, and volunteering. One of her favorite childhood books is Fathers and Sons.
Teacher: Ivy Huang
Ivy Huang works in our infant classroom and has experience working with preschoolers too. She has taken many courses in Child Development at City College of San Francisco to further her learning. She can speak also several languages like Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish and English. She likes to communicate with children and help them understand learning and how to discover their capabilities. She is also very patient with children and has raised a daughter of her own. Ivy hopes to interact with our students and be there for guidance and building relationships with their families. During her free time Ivy enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and exploring nature.
Teacher: Mimi Huang
Mimi Huang has been working with L’Academy in many roles and is now a preschool teacher. She also has previous experience working with children in China and likes to teach many ages. When she immigrated to San Francisco in 2021, she chose to continue her early childhood education, and career. She respects and understands how children learn and is good at detecting children’s enthusiasm and creativity. Mimi has a cheerful personality which is very popular with our students. During her spare time, she likes hiking, listening to music, and reading. In terms of reading, she likes to read books about children’s psychology. She also later hopes to understand more about children’s psychology to help improve her relationships with our students.
Teacher: Aida Castillo
Aida Castillo was born and raised in Oakland, CA, and holds a degree in Human Development. She is currently expanding her knowledge of Early Childhood Education through hands-on work with preschoolers and by attending online ECE courses. Aida also has experience working with elementary students and in Special Education classrooms. She sought a place closer to home where her daughter might also attend, and found L'Academy. Aida is most excited about discovering new approaches to working with children, watching her daughter grow, and learning new languages. In her free time, she enjoys reading, taking walks, and playing with her daughter. Some of her favorite childhood books include Dr. Seuss' stories and the Clifford series.
Teacher: Elaine
Ms. Elaine comes from China and has taken Child Development courses at City College in the past. Currently she works with our young preschoolers and has had previous experience working in Early Childhood Education for the past two years and has a child of her own. Elaine feels it is important that children feel secure enough to create a sense of trust to build attachment with their caregivers. She believes that playing and learning with children every day is enjoyable and likes the happy moments every day. In her spare time, Elaine also likes parent-child day activities to accompany her family and go shopping. Her favorite childhood book is Snow White.
Teacher: Siu Fong
Siu Fong Deng is from China and currently serves as an assistant in the infant classroom at L'Academy. She was introduced to the school by a friend and has always had a love for working with children, often helping care for her two-year-old niece. Siu Fong is excited about learning new things through her work and contributing to the community. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and trying out new cuisines. As a child, her favorite book was The Little Match Girl. She looks forward to meeting and connecting with everyone at L'Academy.
